VI Peel: Noticeable Results, Minimal Downtime
A physician-directed, medium-depth peel that targets discoloration, texture, and fine lines—customized for perimenopausal skin changes.
VI Peel is a medical-grade, medium-depth chemical peel that blends agents like TCA, retinoic acid, salicylic and lactic acids, and vitamin C to address sun damage, uneven tone, acne-prone skin, and early fine lines. It’s a good bridge between skincare and lasers, and we tailor the formula to your goals and skin type.
Fast Facts About VI Peel
In-office application; the peel stays on 4–6 hours
Visible flaking/peeling typically days 2–5
Series-based: common plans are 3 peels, 4–6 weeks apart
Works well alongside SPF, retinoids (timed), and pigment-control topicals
Who It May Help
- Sun damage and uneven pigmentation
- Perimenopausal texture dullness and fine lines
- Acne-prone or congested skin and post-inflammatory marks
- Early melasma care within a broader pigment plan
How It Works
The solution causes controlled exfoliation through the epidermis into the upper dermis. This prompts cell turnover, helps disperse pigment, smooths texture, and softens the look of fine lines. Specific VI Peel variants can be chosen for acne, pigment, or age-related changes.
Candidacy & Alternatives
We avoid peels with active infections, open lesions, recent isotretinoin use, or if you cannot pause certain actives. Alternatives include gentle enzyme peels, IPL/BBL for redness/sun spots, or fractional laser for deeper texture lines. For melasma, strict sun protection and pigment-control topicals remain foundational.
VI Peel vs. CO₂ Laser
VI Peel (Medium-Depth)
- Lower cost and shorter downtime
- Great for tone, brightness, and mild texture
- Series-based; results build over weeks
- Home care critical for best outcome
Fractional CO₂ Resurfacing
- More intensive single-session change
- Addresses deeper wrinkles and etched lines
- Longer downtime and post-care
- Higher cost; often fewer sessions
What to Expect
After a degreasing cleanse, the peel is layered and left on; you’ll rinse at home per instructions. Expect warmth/tingling initially, then tightness and peeling starting day 2–3. Avoid picking. Makeup can be resumed when flaking subsides. A soothing post-peel kit and sunscreen are provided.
Safety & Considerations
Temporary redness, tightness, and peeling are expected. Hyper- or hypopigmentation risk is minimized with proper prep, sun protection, and adherence to aftercare—especially for darker skin tones or melasma-prone skin. We’ll time retinoids and acids and review medication/skin history to reduce irritation.

Frequently Asked Questions
1How many peels will I need?
Many plans include 3 peels spaced 4–6 weeks apart, then maintenance every few months depending on goals and sun exposure.
2Is it safe for darker skin tones?
Yes, with proper prep and aftercare. We customize your plan, emphasize strict sun protection, and may add pigment-control topicals.
3When will I see results?
You’ll notice brighter, smoother skin after the first peel, with cumulative improvement across a series and sustained skincare.
4Can I do this if I’m breastfeeding?
We individualize decisions. Many chemical peels are deferred during breastfeeding; we can offer gentler alternatives and revisit timing.
5Can VI Peel be combined with other treatments?
Often yes. We commonly pair peels with medical-grade skincare, microneedling/RF (timed), or light-based treatments on a schedule that protects skin barrier.
