Hey, I'm here to talk about cervical dysplasia and HPV. HPV is a sexually transmitted virus that can cause changes and abnormalities in the cervix and lead to what you guys know of as an abnormal Pap smear.
What we do at Westside Women's Health is do the Pap smear screenings. And if we find an abnormality or HPV, we'll guide you through every step of the process, including performing a colposcopy, which is a microscopic exam to look closer at the cervix and make sure there's no precancer of the cervix.
Rest assured, though this is stressful, most of the time it goes away on its own. And the most important thing is that we'll educate you and guide you through every step.
